		<description>I get tired of the sound of the &#039;let students drive their own learning&#039; mantra.. Does not that approach presuppose that students have the developmental maturity to discern what it is they should be learning and to apply themselves to acquiring that learning - even when it is &#039;boring&#039; and unpalatable? I also get a bit edgy about the way &#039;learning&#039; appears to be morphing into a fluid, undefined, unregulated mess, with no one prepared to take responsibility for defining what &#039;core learning&#039; for various subjects is, or should be. Heaven help us in a few years when the doctors and engineers trained in this fairyland begin to emerge!</description>
